Coach Jeff Grant
Your Environment Is Already Coaching You. Here's How to See It.
8 colors. 8 catalyst tools. No app, no device, no AI. Just your eyes, your breath, and what's already around you.
Two decades coaching at every level — ultramarathons, boardrooms, and the moments in between. This is the system.
You're standing in a moment that matters and your mind isn't where you need it to be.
Maybe you're chasing a personal best. The race is coming, the training block is loaded, and you need something that drops you into the zone before your feet hit the ground. Not a playlist. Not a mantra. Something that fires in the time it takes to look at a color and breathe.
Maybe you're on the wrong side of a setback. An illness, an injury, a comeback that feels theoretical from where you're standing right now. You can't train your way through it yet. You need something that keeps you in the work while your body catches up.
Maybe you're in a transition you didn't choose. A career ended. A relationship shifted. The next chapter isn't visible yet and the gap isn't knowledge — it's knowing where to put your feet. You need something that moves you forward before you can see where you're going.
Different doors. Same hallway. Your mind needs a shift and the tools people reach for — the apps, the podcasts, the programs, the AI — either take too long, depend on a device, or fall apart the moment the pressure is actually on.
Color Flow: The System I've Used for 20 Years
Here's something you might not expect: you may already be doing this.
You walk outside and see a clear blue sky. Something settles. You're in a grey, fluorescent-lit office all day and you feel flat. You step outside, see green trees, and your energy lifts. That's not imagination — that's your nervous system responding to color before your thinking mind catches up.
I discovered this on a steep hill in Switzerland, more than twenty years ago. No music. No one cheering. No external motivation. Just me and a hill that took almost two minutes to sprint up. And I started looking around thinking — where does the energy come from when there's nothing feeding it to you?
I noticed the green farmers' fields. And I thought: how do I feel when I see that color? Green is giving me oxygen. It's giving me life. So I saw the green, took a big breath in, and imagined supercharged air rushing into my body. And it worked.
Then I tried blue. Then white. Then brown. Then red. I started mapping meanings to colors — and suddenly the entire environment was holding up signs for me. In a matter of seconds, something would shift. Not magic. Not mysticism. Just my brain responding to visual input the way it's wired to.
I spent the next 20 years testing it — in training, in competition, and in coaching sessions from New York to Zurich to Tokyo. And still yesterday at the gym, I was needing that push. I saw my yellow watch band. Lightning bolt. Got the reps. This works.
The System Works Anywhere You Need to Perform
Every mental performance tool I see these days requires tech — an app, a subscription, AI, a phone with battery power. That's a house of cards that will fail you when you need it most.
I built Color Flow on the opposite principle: it requires nothing except what's already around you. I pioneered it for runners, expanded it to athletes across every discipline, and then discovered it works anywhere pressure shows up — boardrooms, military training grounds, stages, classrooms. A musician used it at the Metropolitan Opera. It works because it's built on how your brain already processes visual input — not on any single sport, setting, or device.
Color Flow is for you if you:
Perform under pressure — executive, musician, surgeon, speaker, parent in a hard moment. You need a mental tool that works in real time, not after the fact.
Compete — race day, game day, performance day. Your body is ready. You need something to reach your peak performance state — energy, calm, focus, or fire, on demand.
Feel stuck — you know what you should be doing. You've read the books, done the courses, absorbed the advice. The gap isn't knowledge — it's activation. You need a tool that meets you where you are and moves you forward.
Coach others — youth baseball coach, swim instructor, music teacher, team lead, parent. You need tools you can teach in a single session that your athletes, students, or kids will actually use when it counts.
Train — runner, triathlete, gym athlete, cyclist, golfer, swimmer. You already know how to train your body. This gives you tools to train your mind in the same session.
A CEO in a high-stakes board meeting staged a custom color in the room to stay grounded through conflict. When I teach this to teens and kids, it's the easiest tool to click for them. No phone, no app, no subscription. Just your eyes and what's already there.
If you can see color, you can use this.
If you started with Green, you already stepped through the gateway. This is the full system it opens into.
8 Colors. 8 Tools. Each One Does Something Different.
I'll teach you a mapping that works for most people. But if a color sparks something different in you — that's the whole point. You have full freedom to modify this system. I discovered an approach. I didn't invent it.
Here's a taste of three:
🟢 GREEN — The Gateway. Breath, new oxygen, receptivity. Where everything starts.
Pure oxygen. Like putting on an oxygen mask and taking a deep breath of high-power fuel. Your chest opens, energy arrives, and you feel I'm alive, I'm charged up. I created this one on a hill in Switzerland and perfected it at the track — breathing in the green of the infield gave me the extra boost I needed on the second lap of an 800-meter repeat.
⚫ BLACK/GRAY — The Mute Button
Noise-cancelling headphones for your mind. One action: mute. Everything goes quiet — the doubt, the inner critic, all the noise that isn't helping. This one hits me almost every time I drive to the gym. Mind racing with seven things at once. I look down at the black asphalt and think: mute. Done.
🔴 RED — Kokoro (Heart-Spirit)
Kokoro is a Japanese word meaning the mind, heart, and spirit coming together as one. Red is the people you love, your will to show up, the force that detonates from inside when everything feels impossible. At Ironman Kona in 2000, I saw my friends and family at the finish line. From that day, any red object in my environment brings them with me.
The other five — Blue, White, Brown, Orange, Yellow — each do something specific and different. Cool clarity under heat. Instant peace when tension takes over. Gravity pulling you forward when your legs have nothing left. A slow burn that sustains you through the grind. A lightning bolt that sparks your reset. You'll learn all eight in Lesson 3.
Here's What You Get
The Video Course — 5 Lessons + 1 Bonus
Lesson 1: The Discovery (13 min)
A coaching conversation in my home. The origin story from a hill in Switzerland, how I evolved the system over 20 years, and why your environment has been sending you signals all along.
Lesson 2: How It Works (9 min)
You're already responding to color — you're just doing it unconsciously. The science (light touch, not a lecture), environmental anchoring, and the permission that makes this system yours: there are no wrong answers.
Lesson 3: The Color Palette (38 min)
The core teaching. All 8 colors, one by one — what each tool does, where to find it in your environment, how to use it, and a personal story for each. This single video delivers what most mental performance programs spread across an entire course.
Lesson 4: The Field Guide (25 min)
I take you on my motorbike across Koh Samui and coach you at 7 real locations — beach, city streets, running track, jungle, neighborhood, gym, poolside. You ride with me and get coached in real time through real environments. No teleprompter, no scripts. This is the video no other course creator can make.
Lesson 5: Integration & Next Steps (18 min)
The knowledge-to-practice bridge. How to prime colors before any effort. How to wind down afterward. A full on-camera workbook walkthrough — I colored the pages myself and had more fun than I expected. Event and race prep: staging colors at checkpoints, linking them to the people who matter most. How to spot colors in passing cars as daily awareness training. This is how the tools become automatic.
Bonus: Build Your Own Color (6 min)
The full PMFUS framework — Pause, Map It, Find It, Use It, Story. I walk through building a custom 9th color using a real CEO coaching example. A boardroom. A legacy challenge. Silver. This is where the system becomes completely yours.
The Color Flow Workbook (24-page interactive PDF)
Not a download you'll never open. This is a working document — I walk through it on camera in Lesson 5. Coloring pages (yes, actual coloring — I did them myself and had more fun than I expected). Photo documentation templates. Route color palette builder. Practice calendar. Event prep worksheet. Troubleshooting guide. Quick reference card you can tear out and carry in your wallet.
Environment Gallery (8-page PDF)
One page per color showing real-world environments with colors identified. Recognition training so you know exactly what to look for.

All 8 colors, all 8 tools, one card. Print it, laminate it, carry it everywhere.
"I just played Tristan und Isolde at the Met EIGHT TIMES. The opera is 5 hours long. By the end I was sooooo done. Like seriously, I had to play a series of whole notes, then hold a long decrescendo to a pianissimo at the end of the Liebestod. Every time I wasn't sure I could hold on! But I remembered your advice about finding a color to focus on. The inside of my music folder had a little tab of blue and my eyes found that color and I held on!! Sometimes I needed even more and I found a bright white violin case in the bit, then a red luggage tag. WHEW."
— Joy — French Horn | New York
Joy and I were classmates at the University of Georgia School of Music. I was on trombone scholarship. She stayed on French Horn and made it all the way to playing with orchestras like the Met and the National Symphony. We took very different paths — and decades later, the concept behind this course found its way to her through my newsletter.
She's never taken Color Flow. She picked up the idea from a conversation. She used it instinctively — a blue tab, a white violin case, a red luggage tag — during 40 hours of Wagner under elite performance pressure. No phone, no app, no wearable.
Imagine what the structured 8-color system could do for you.
20 Years. 7 Countries. The Tools Stay With You.
"It is not just skills and experience. It is your light."
— Sophie M., Paris, France
"I did a running workshop with you more than 10 years ago in Richterswil and I'm still using the techniques you explained there."
— H.P. — United Kingdom / Zürich
"It's like you're sitting beside me talking and coaching me."
— P.T., British Columbia, Canada
[Paraphrased — Amazon reviewer, Flow State Runner]: A reader of Jeff's book described going from never having run beyond a 5K to completing a 50-mile trail run in under 5 months of training, at age 55. Called the mental approach the key differentiator. Color Flow is built from the same coaching methodology.

Questions You Might Have
What if certain colors already mean something different to me?
Good — that means you already have an emotional response to color, and we're halfway there. I teach you my 8-color framework as a starting point, but the associations that matter most are the ones that resonate with you. If a color evokes something — even something negative — that's an energy we can work with. The bonus lesson teaches you to build your own color from scratch. There are no wrong answers.
Is this meditation or visualization?
Neither. This is real-time, eyes open, no technology. It's what you see, what you feel when you see it, and training those responses to help you when it matters most. I address this head-on in Lesson 1: this is not mysticism or spiritualism. It's mapping a behavior to how your brain already functions.
How quickly will I see results?
Some people feel the shift during Lesson 3, the first time they lock onto a color with intention. In Lesson 5, I teach you a daily awareness practice — pick a color, notice it everywhere you go. You'll start seeing colors in places you never noticed them before. Once the awareness switches on, it stays on.
I've bought online courses before and never finished them.
This one is five focused lessons, not a 40-hour content dump. The Field Guide is a coaching ride across a tropical island on a motorbike — it's designed to be experienced, not endured. And the workbook gives you something to DO, including actual coloring pages. I colored them all myself and had more fun than I expected.
What's the refund policy?
30-day money-back guarantee. If Color Flow doesn't change how you experience pressure, effort, or performance — email me and I'll refund you.
What format are the videos?
Streaming video with English closed captions and subtitles in German, Spanish, French, and Japanese. Watch on any device — phone, tablet, laptop. Lifetime access. All PDFs are downloadable.
Can't I just ask AI to coach me through this?
AI can tell you about breathing techniques. It can walk you through a visualization script. It can recite what color psychology research says about green.
What it can't do is train the coach already inside you. Color Flow isn't information — it's a system that builds something. Five video lessons from two decades of real coaching reps, a coaching tour across a tropical island where I teach you in real time, a workbook that locks the mappings into your body, and audio tracks that train the responses eyes-closed. After a few weeks, the inner voice gets sharper, faster, more reliable — on demand, no device required.
AI gives you information. This builds a system inside you that works when your phone dies and the AI goes with it.
Is this therapy?
No. I'm not a therapist and this isn't clinical work. Color Flow is a catalyst tool — something you carry that helps you reorient your mind in the moments that matter. It pulls from meditation, visualization, yoga, and coaching — the parts that work fastest.
If you're working with a therapist, this sits alongside that work. If you're not and don't want to be, this isn't asking you to start. It's a tool. You pick it up, you use it, you move.

About Coach Jeff Grant
I spent 18 years in high-pressure corporate IT — global banking, deal making, negotiating major contracts across a hundred-thousand-person organization spanning dozens of countries. A career's worth of understanding what pressure looks like when the stakes are real.
Then I walked away from all of it to coach.
Not because corporate broke me. Because I'd been coaching on the side for years and realized that was the work that mattered. The endurance athletes I trained on weekends. The people stuck in patterns they couldn't name. The quiet conversations that changed more than any deal I ever closed.
That transition — from boardroom to trailhead — is the foundation of everything I do now.
The field part is where it gets specific. More than a dozen ultramarathons over 50 kilometers — Marathon des Sables, UTMB, Ironman, open water, multi-day stage races. Coached in more than 25 countries. For five years I coached at military-inspired mental toughness camps, working with soldiers and athletes who came to get broken down and rebuilt.
But the endurance resume is the part people expect. What they don't expect is the rest.
I've practiced yoga for over 30 years and taught for 15 — burnout prevention workshops, yin yoga for athletes. I went to the University of Georgia on a trombone scholarship. Music taught me rhythm, timing, and how to perform under pressure in front of people. I'm a private pilot, trained in the complex topography of the Alps. I've spent years working with high-performers in private, high-stakes settings — people navigating pressure at a level most coaches never encounter. I support permaculture projects in Africa and run a dog rescue in Thailand.
All of this converges. No single piece is the differentiator. The intersection is. I coach from a place that no label captures — and that's exactly why it works.
I live in Koh Samui, Thailand. I've published five books. I'm building tools that help people activate an internal coaching system that works when everything else is taken away — no phone, no watch, no wifi. Color Flow is the first of them, and the one I'm the most excited about.
Once You See It, You Can't Unsee It.
